APC's Corporate Contributions Program

OUR MISSION

In today's fast-paced world, American Power Conversion (APC) understands the importance of establishing itself as a socially responsible corporate citizen - therefore APC is committed to supporting the region it calls home.

We understand the value of our surrounding communities. By supporting programs and charities which foster excellence in education, a spirit of teamwork, and the 'can-do' desire to make a difference, we recognize we are investing in the future of our community and of our employees.

APC employees lend a helping hand to Habitat for Humanity
We know short-term approaches to financial support are not always the best, long-term solution. APC strives to make positive long-term impacts in our community.

APC's commitment of social responsibility is accomplished through our Corporate Contributions Program. The intent of the program is as follows:

  • To pro-actively support the regions where APC has a significant business presence.
  • To create a more highly skilled and diverse workforce by contributing to select education programs that reinforce the use of technology.
  • To support and build pride among APC employees and their families.
  • To foster 'good neighbor' efforts throughout the communities where APC operates.

CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS

Charitable contributions are monetary and product grants from APC to non-profit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status.

APC'ers run for annual hospital benefit road race.
While there are a significant number of worthwhile causes APC could support, we feel that the road to community development begins early on in the classroom. APC specifically supports non-profit contribution opportunities that fall primarily under a technological education umbrella, more specifically targeting:

Primary and Secondary Education

Today's children are tomorrow's future. APC strives to help create a technologically proficient work force by supporting science, math and technology-based curriculums within area school districts.

Higher Education

APC promotes the importance of technology in higher education curriculums, by supporting math, science, engineering and computer-related programs.

APC supports the education sector in two ways:
  1. Through APC power protection equipment donations.
  2. Through specific educational program support.

Our support of local sponsorships, non-profit outreach organizations and the education sector allow APC to continuously impact the community we call home.

When determining where to allocate APC's charitable contributions and local sponsorship funding, the following criteria is carefully considered:?
  1. The opportunity coincides with APC's mission of social responsibility.
  2. The cost of the venture. (Monetary or in time spent.)
  3. The benefit will be widespread and beneficial.
  4. The ability to have a significant impact in the community.
